It is not because I have lived in Yogyakarta where the center of Javanese culture has influenced to the life of people in Indonesia, that I decide to choose the picture of the reflected moon on the surface of the ocean.
With my eye, I can see the figure of a dancer. It is my imagination I had during my trip back from Banggai island to Luwu in Central Sulawesi. Ocean with the moon shows to me the connection between imagination, knowledge and theories. I wonder whether I can have the same understanding when I stand on the ocean in a day time during the brightness of the sun on the deck of a ship. Why in the darkness, the quality of light as sprang out from the moon can make so much meaning for me?
Watching the sunset has been my life since I was little in the bay of Ambon in the village of Amahusu. The beauty of the sunset with various appearances comes back many many times after we have our family home in Parangtritis. However only sailing with the company of moon has made so much new interpretation to my life. The interpretation that I would like to go deeply in my blog relates with the mystery of knowledge and theories.
Our capacities of understanding lie deeply in our consciousnees as deep as ocean that we can see with the light of moon. To know what we have in our brain we do need to have an enternal light as we see on the nature of the moon. What is the light that enlightens our brain so that we understand what kind of knowledge we have?
Then we can continue our wonder to know how can we build our understanding to become a theory. Does knowledge appear similarly to theories? How can we see the relation of theories and knowledge with our life? All questions I have during the trip that made me to decide taking the wonderful pictures of the moon to enlighten the surface deeply into the heart of ocean, including inspiring the depth of thought within my own.
Nature lies its mystery and I am entering into its spirit to understand its presentation, representation, reproduction in my imagination to make a sense in my life. This is vision of the blog I would like to conceive in my time to come.
